Hornady Transportation, family owned and operated, was founded in 1928. As a flatbed carrier, we run east of the Rockies hauling building materials as well as steel coils, poles and pipe. We do not run into Canada, Mexico or New England. Hornady Transportation strives to offer the best in equipment, pay and benefits as well as a staff to help each driver earn a living and get them home to enjoy it.

10 Year Award 

Hornady would like to honor our veteran drivers of 10 years by giving you a $1,000 bonus. We will also reward you $1,000 for every anniversary following. Keep up the good work!

Starting pay will now range from .46-.54, based on driver experience levels. In addition, we have increased the ceiling rate to .56 cents.

Our System 1 drivers are home on weekends. If you want to run more miles, our System 2 drivers get home every other weekend. The past few years, our top earners made over $69,000. Ask about our new pay packages!

Orientation/Training pay:
$1,000 Orientation for Qualified Flatbed Drivers.
$750 per week for drivers who need additional flatbed training.
Now providing lunch during orientation and single occupancy rooms

Military Program Veterans Welcome!
Hornady salutes all veterans and value their service. We are the perfect place to use the skills obtained in the military and transform them into a rewarding and successful career. We hope to assist all exiting military drivers and help them make a smooth transition entering into civilian life.

We have implemented a new training program geared towards all military drivers. Drivers must complete 1 week of orientation and 4 to 6 weeks training.

Qualifications

  • »Applicants must be 23 years or older and have 3 – 6 months of recent flatbed experience or a minimum of 6 months of recent tractor-trailer experience.
  • »Meet DOT driver qualifications and be able to operate in all 48 states
  • »Have a valid CDL Class ‘A’ license from their state of residence
  • »Any DUI, DWI, or OWI must be over 5 years old
  • »Felony convictions must be over 7 years old
  • »Misdemeanor convictions will be reviewed on a case by case basis
  • »Moving violations will be reviewed for the past three years in conjunction with accident records. Records prior to three years may be considered
  • »Rollovers Accidents – must be over one year
  • »Be capable of performing essential job functions and meet physical requirements: heavy lifting (e.g. capable of lifting greater than 115 pound tarp overhead), tarping, climbing, bending and sitting for extended periods of time. These are just a few examples and are not an all inclusive list
  • »Be agreeable to our home time policy
