A typical dump truck is equipped with a hydraulically operated open-box bed hinged at the rear, the front of which can be lifted to allow the contents to be deposited on the ground behind the truck at the site of delivery.

To obtain employment in a Dump Truck Driving Job, you must be at least 18 years of age to obtain a CDL. Drivers under age 21 are limited to operating within their state of licensing (intrastate operation).

There are two ways to get paid while working in Dump Truck Driver job, either by the hour or by a percentage of the loads hauled. When it comes to working on construction sites, pay is typically by the hour; usually $20.00 per hour, or more.
The standard pay for 10 wheelers on a job site is around $80.00 per hour, with a 4 hour minimum. If you are working with your own truck as a subcontractor, you are responsible for fuel, insurance and maintenance.
