CDL-A Dedicated Flex Truck Driver – Guaranteed Pay

Dedicated truck drivers enjoy the many privileges that come with having consistent customers. Unlike our other dedicated accounts, our dedicated flex position offers a good balance of driving for multiple dedicated customers. As a dedicated flex driver, you’ll enjoy a steady schedule with variety in your routes each week, as well as a guaranteed minimum pay of $1,400 per week.

As a Dedicated Flex Truck Driver, you can expect:

  • Competitive pay:
    • Average $1,700 per week; $90,000 per year
    • Guaranteed minimum of $1,400 per week ($72,800 per year guaranteed) if available to work the entire week and training is completed
    • Guaranteed minimum of $1,160 for local assignments,drivers must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours or 5 days on daily mileage runs within a 7-day period
    • Starting pay is .64 cpm
    • Miles will fluctuate depending on which account you are working on
    • Stop and loading/unloading pay (not all accounts)
    • Detention, breakdown, and layover pay when applicable
    • Company sponsored per diem program
  • Home weekly, drivers who wish to accept two-week assignments, with a 34-hour reset on the road, will receive an additional $200 in per diem

Job Requirements:

  • Drivers must have Class A CDL
  • Being adaptable to change and having the desire to work with a wide variety of freight
  • Occasionally support other Averitt operations when needed; to ensure you’ll always be rolling
  • Serve multiple customers, will only work for 1 account at a time (a minimum of 1 week or until the customer’s needs are met) then haul another dedicated customer’s product

  • Must live within 80 miles
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have 6 months’ verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the past 3 years
  • Drivers must have Class A CDL
  • Must apply for hazmat/tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire and must obtain hazmat/tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire- will be reimbursed upon receipt
  • No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
  • No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
  • No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
  • No serious violations within previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
  • No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years

Essential functions:

  • Load freight – lift requirement: 80 lbs
  • Unload freight – lift requirement: 80 lbs
  • Move freight – force requirement: 54 lbs
  • Open/Close Trailer Doors – force requirement: 46 lbs
  • Count freight
  • Complete fuel tickets
  • Obtain sales leads
  • Hook/Unhook trailer – force requirement: 90 lbs (Class A Only)
  • Perform pre-trip inspections
  • Drive
  • Regular predictable attendance
  • Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
  • Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level
