CDL-A Dedicated Truck Driver

Dedicated drivers enjoy the many privileges that come with having consistent customers. Unlike some driver positions, this one gives you a better idea of the number of miles and hours each week holds, which means you’ll have a better idea of what to expect in every paycheck. And because you know your customers and their typical freight load, you’ll never be surprised or slowed down by unusual shipments.

  • Competitive pay:
    • Average $1,500 – $1,600 per week / $78,000 – $83,200 per year
    • Starting pay of .515 cpm
    • Average of 2,000 miles per week
    • $25.50 stop pay
      • Max of 4 stops per trip
    • $25 /hour loading/unloading pay
      • While operating forklift loading and unloading off flatbed trailer
    • Detention, layover, and breakdown pay available
    • Company sponsored per diem program
  • Guaranteed to be home every weekend, late Friday or early Saturday
  • This is a sleeper driver position, leave Monday and return by Saturday at the latest
  • Only out for 1 week
  • Deliver portable storage units from the Averitt service center in Atlanta to our customer’s several storage facilities (19+)
  • Receive forklift training as loading of the portable storage units may be necessary
  • After that it’s just strapping, un-strapping and driving until your day is complete

  • Must live within a 150-mile radius
  • 6 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
  • Must have a Class A CDL
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
  • No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 5 years
  • No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation within the past 5 years
  • No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with a fatality)
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
  • No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years

Essential functions:

  • Lift and move side kits -lift requirements: 46 lbs
  • Secure load with chains and hardware – lift requirements: 80 lbs
  • Climb onto and off of the flatbed trailer/load
  • Count freight
  • Complete fuel tickets
  • Complete delivery receipt
  • Hook/Unhook trailer – force requirement: 90 lbs
  • Perform pre-trip inspections
  • Drive
  • Extensive travel – ability to sit upright for extended periods of time.
  • Regular predictable attendance
