Dedicated Yard Truck Driver Job – La Vergne, Tennessee
CDL-A Dedicated Yard/Road Switcher
As a Yard Switcher, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth movement of trailers in and out of docks at our customer’s location. This position offers a predictable schedule and clear weekly hours, giving you a better idea of your earnings and allowing you to plan ahead. With consistent freight loads and regular tasks, you can expect stability and no surprises.

Consistent Schedule:
- Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- 1st shift: work 8 – 10 hours per day
- Average 40 – 45 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the timely movement of trailers in and out of docks on-site at the customer’s location
- Communicate via 2-way radio with associates to move trailers in and out of designated doors
- Stage trailers (empty and loaded) across various areas of the property
- Work in three key loading areas:
- Fertilizer plant
- Feed plant
- Warehouse

Pay Range: – , General Benefits:
- Must live within a 75-mile radius
- 6 months verifiable tractor/trailer experience and/or switching experience within past 3 years
- Must have Class A CDL
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
- No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
- No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
- No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
- No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years
Essential Functions:
- Open/Close trailer door – force requirement: 46 lbs
- Hook/Unhook trailer – force requirement: 90 lbs
- Perform pre-trip inspections
- Drive
- Count freight
- Complete fuel tickets
- Regular predictable attendance
- Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
- Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level
