TMC Transportation: Where Drivers Are Employee Owners

A driver who is about to embark on CDL school asked us on our Facebook page for feedback on an article he had read regarding high driver turnover in the industry. The article had him second guessing his decision to join the industry. Our response was simple. Not all trucking companies are created equal. If you choose the right company, one that respects and values its drivers, you can expect a great career.

At TMC, our culture was established by our Founder and CEO Harrold Annett. His dedication to honest, hard work and his unyielding commitment to excellence are the core values that we live by. He built TMC from six trucks in 1972 to one of the largest flatbed companies today.

Harrold Annett values and appreciates his employees so much that he has recently given TMC employees ownership in the company.

“I have been approached many times with the opportunity to sell TMC,” comments Harrold Annett. What I realized in contemplating selling the company, is that it would result in a change to the culture that we have all worked hard over these years to create. The only way to make sure our culture endures is to put TMC into the hands of the people who take the most pride in our culture. And that is the employees.”

At TMC, employees are no longer just co-workers, but partners. We all have a vested interest in the success of the company and share in the profits through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).  There aren’t many trucking companies that are sharing their profits and helping drivers build long term wealth.

We are hiring both experienced and student drivers. If you are looking for a good company that truly values its employees, give us a call today 800-247-2862. Be sure to ask us about ESOP and how it benefits you.
